Here’s how to surf the Arctic
Now this is dedication. When you think of travelling for the surf, usually you picture sandy beaches and warm sunshine. Professional surfers Patrick Millin and Brett Barley, however, have different ideas – and Arctic enthusiast Chris Burkard is on hand to record it.
Between freezing water, vans getting stuck in the snow, and hours of shovelling, it’s a gruelling adventure – but it’s all worth it for the waves and the landscapes. Burkard says that his purpose is to stoke people’s passion and encourage them to get out there – but it might just encourage you to thank your lucky stars for hot water bottles instead.
