Exactly as the name suggests, this gizmo keeps an eye on your tyre health while you’re on the move.
The Steelmate Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is a set of four sensors you use to track your tyre pressures via a monitor plugged into the cigarette lighter. It’s a small compact kit that’s easy to use and gives you general peace of mind on the road.
Now I was sceptical at first, but since using the kit I want one permanently plugged in and here’s why:
Reasons for using a TPMS
There’s a lot of science to tyres and by listening to them, you can better care for your car and your wallet.
- This TPMS shows the current pressures of all four tyres in real time.
- The air pumps at garages are often out on their tyre pressure readings – use these sensors to double check, but wait for your tyres to ‘heat up ‘ by driving for a while before comparing.
- You can detect slow punctures.
- Ensure all tyres are pumped up equally – different pressures can lead to unnecessary exertion on your vehicle.
- The sensors are light, fit on snugly and are screwed on tightly using its designated spanner
- It’s a small, easy kit to use and the installation is very simple.
- The monitor is easily visible and beeps loudly when there’s a problem
- You’ll have peace of mind and enjoy your travels without worry.
