When someone gives you permission to take a selfie with Jesus, you don’t turn it down …
That’s what happened to Lee Thompson, a travel blogger and photographer, who got to take a selfie of biblical proportions atop Brazil’s famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
Thompson and his colleague Oliver Harvey were given special permission from the Brazil tour board to climb to the top of the statue.
“When the opportunity arose to take the world’s first (and so far only) selfie with Jesus, I couldn’t resist,” wrote Thompson, who was in town to cover the World Cup preparations.
Together, the duo from The Flash Pack travel company crawled in circles up 12 flights of stairs to get to the top. The video of how they got there is almost as cool as the selfie. Almost.
