We have to admit that there are more than a few reasons ‘not’ to visit South Africa. Whether this is due to seeing the ‘same old’ Big Five or the boring African sunsets that light up the sky in an orange, yellow and red hue, our country does ‘not have much’ to offer for travellers or locals.
Our country is far from a unique landscape, with teeming wild animals and we surely do ‘not’ have a range of beaches to soak up the sun.
Here are five reasons not to visit South Africa:
1. We ‘lack’ a range of animals
The Big Five is not made up of majestic giants and other wonderful animals.
South Africa is not home to some of the most majestic wild creatures in the world.

2. Picture-perfect sunsets? We have ‘not’ seen one.
The Lion King paints an ideal sunset in Africa but South Africa is not home to any of these.
Red, orange and pink hue sunsets that light up the skyline are hard to come by in our backyard.
3. Blue Flag beaches? We do ‘not’ have those here.
Our beaches are not the perfect spot to lay out a towel and take a dip in the ocean. South Africa is not one of the countries that claimed the spot for nearly 50 pristine and clean beaches.
4. No diverse food options or premier culinary experiences either.
If you are looking for a gastronomical adventure, then South Africa is surely ‘not’ the place for you.
5. What natural landmarks?
We clearly do not boast a range of natural landmarks and Table Mountain does ‘not’ make the list.
Neither does the Blyde River Canyon.
