Fourteen people were sitting on a wooden deck next to a pub in the Mopani Camp in Kruger National Park on Thursday morning, 23 May, when the deck collapsed.
‘Wooden deck next to pub collapsed causing 14 people to fall down. Seven young people were transported to hospitals,’ Maponya911 paramedic Jaco Gericke posted on Facebook.
Of the seven hurt in the incident, two were critically injured and were airlifted by the by KNP and the Mpumalanga EMS helicopters.
‘We wish the injured people involved a speedy recovery. An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the accident,’ Isaac Phaala, Regional Communications Manager at SANParks told the Letaba Herald.
