McKamey Manor in Tennessee requires those attempting to walk through its creepy halls to sign a 40-page waiver contract, complete a drug test, have a letter from a doctor saying that you are mentally and physically fit and proof of medical insurance.
It only costs a bag of dog food to enter but those who complete the run of the incredibly scary house will get paid $20,000 (around R290,000). So far, not one soul has managed to get to the end of the entire ordeal.
The tour can last up to 10 hours depending on your ability to stomach the gruesome horrors inside.
The theme of the haunted house changes but is always designed to take the frights to the next level.
‘Be warned, McKamey Manor, is not your standard (boo) haunted house. This is an audience participation event in which (YOU) will live your own Horror Movie. This is a rough, intense and truly frightening experience,’ the Manor’s website explicitly warns.
According to Travel and Leisure, wannabe contenders are also required to watch ‘And Then There Were None’, a two-hour video of people who attempted the haunted house telling future visitors that ‘you really don’t want to do this’.
