As veganism and other plant-based lifestyles are becoming increasingly popular, group tour operator Contiki has decided to hop on the bandwagon with a once-off vegan-only food tour through Europe.
Travellers will be guided by vegan-experts Instagram personalities @thelittlelondonvegan and @laurafruitfairy through some of Europe’s most popular cities including Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest.
The trip starts on 16 August in Berlin and ends in Budapest on 23 August,2020.
‘Food and travel go hand in hand and it can be a challenge for those practising veganism to have the chance to experience local delicacies in certain parts of the world. As a result, we’ve seen a big increase in queries from travellers about where to find the best vegan eateries,’ says Kele Scheppers, Marketing Manager for The Travel Corporation according to IOL.
Some of the food experiences travellers will have are a vegan cooking class in Budapest run by @laurafruitfairy, a private, plant-based EatWith dining experience with locals in Berlin, a dreamy dinner cruise along the Danube River and the chance to sample a wide range of vegan delicacies on an interactive food tour in Berlin.
‘Along the way you’ll dine with locals, soak up Europe’s history and culture and stuff yourself silly in some of the world’s finest plant-based eateries,’ Contiki says on their website. The tour starts at R22,192 per person.
