Residents in the Pietermaritzburg area in KwaZulu-Natal were happy to receive some rain last night, 20 February.
Storm Report SA issued a severe thunderstorm warning on Facebook, and it looks like they were right.
Ominous-looking clouds soon brought a fierce storm and people took to social media to share videos and pictures.

Weather services forecast more rain for the weekend, with 100% precipitation for Saturday and 60% predicted for Sunday.
