Large Cape cobra spotted in Kgalagadi

Not everybody wants to encounter a snake, especially one as venomous as the Cape cobra.

One photographer, Etienne Terblanche, was delighted however. He took to Facebook to share some incredible pictures he got of this slithering snake.

‘At approximately 14h15 we had a big surprise … It already started raining, and the last thing on our mind was a snake … But never misjudge nature itself … This Cape Cobra entertained us till 15h00, inspecting every hole in the area, and luckily for us was not camera shy at all,’ he said.

Take a look at the amazing encounter:

Cobras are considered one of the most dangerous snake species as their venom is potently neurotoxic, causing progressive weakness which may affect breathing within less than half an hour.

Do not challenge a snake if you encounter one and, should you get bitten, seek medical attention immediately.
