Humour provides a form of relief in the most uncertain times. Around the world, people are doing what they can to keep themselves busy, stimulated and entertained while under lockdown.
A family from Yorkshire in northern England sought out entertainment from people passing by their house. Having taken inspiration from Monty Python’s sketch titled Ministry of Silly Walks, the Koto family set up a sign hoping to have some fun with their neighbours.
The sign, situated in front of their home, reads ‘You have now entered the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Silly Walks, commence silly walking immediately.’
With a camera pointed to the road, the family have been able to capture all the silly walking shenanigans going on outside. The videos has been posted to an Instagram account called yorkshire.silly.walks.
So far over 41K people follow the account in anticipation of the next hilarious video. The sense of humour of this neighbourhood is palpable, each taking the initiative to put on as funny a show as possible.
