Our country is proudly perched alongside famous wine areas like Bordeaux in France, La Rioja in Spain, Napa Valley and Sanoma in California and Tuscany in Italy.
The Western Cape is famed for its abundance of highly decorated wineries, Franschoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl reign supreme. There are however many pockets of wine farms and vineyards that deserve a spot alongside this trio of wine country.
Durbanville, the Drakensberg, Robertson, the Midlands and Tulbagh offer up delicious South African wines paired with wondrous wineries well worth visiting.
