Greece is offering up to 50% discounts for plane tickets

Posted on 10 July 2020

Greece has decided to kick-start its tourism sector after having to close its borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In June, ferry services between the islands resumed operations and the first flights carrying international passengers landed in Thessaloniki and Athens.

Greece is kickstarting its tourism industry.

With airports reopen, Greece’s national Airline, Aegan Airlines, is looking to boost the country’s tourism sector by offering customers once in a lifetime summer and autumn promotions.

As part of one of the promotions, a customer who buys a plane ticket to any destination in Greece will get a second plane ticket at a massive 50% discount. This applies to both economy and business class travellers.

Aegean Airlines also has promotions running for families looking to explore the wonders of Greece. When an adult purchases a ticket, an infant between the ages of 0 and 2 years old will receive a 90% discount. Children between the ages of 2 and 12 can travel with a 50% discount on plane tickets. Best of all, the promotion also includes one free extra baggage for the family.

According to the Olympicair websites, flights from Johannesburg to Athens operate from August 6 2020 until October 23 2020.

All promotions are valid on flights with both Aegean Air and its subsidiary Olympic Air and can be purchased from any dates between now and October, according to Lonely Planet.
