Several countries have had to reinstate lockdown measures after they experienced a second wave of coronavirus, or try to avoid one.
The French capital Paris has reimposed several lockdown restrictions after the country noted a recent spike in infections. France reported nearly 17,000 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, October 3 alone, the highest daily number since the country began widespread testing, according to The National.

The lockdown includes several stakeholders in the hospitality industry who have to close for two weeks, such as bars and cafes. Restaurants, however, will remain open.
The city of Marseille closed bars and restaurants last week.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said these restrictions will admittedly be very hard on residents. ‘We are French, we love to drink, to eat, to live, to smile and to kiss each other,’ he said according to BBC.
In Madrid, the infection rate has increased to 730 cases per 100,000 people, a sharp influx compared to 300 per 100,000 people in the rest of Spain.
Residents will not be allowed to leave the city except for work, school or medical reasons for 14 days.
