The NSRI are appealing to bathers, surfers and paddlers to be cautious on the Jeffrey’s Bay coastline and between Tsitsikamma and Port Elizabeth.
‘A whale carcass, seemingly a Southern Right Whale has washed ashore at Kabeljous near Jeffrey’s Bay. Whales that have washed ashore usually attracts increased shark activity, and while no increased shark activity has been witnessed at this stage, it is normal for this to happen,’ the NSRI said.
‘As a precaution, we are appealing bathers, surfers and paddlers to be cautious along the coastline between Tsitsikamma and Port Elizabeth.’
