Any tequila aficionado will agree that there is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a good quality tequila with your closest friends.
Jose Cuervo have taken the meaning of ‘tequila train’ to a new level.
The Mundo Cuervo’s Jose Cuervo Express is a luxury train experience that takes you on a journey through the birthplace of the world-famous drink.
The Jose Cuervo Express started regular service on December 5, taking travellers on a journey through the agave fields between Guadalajara and Tequila, a town in Mexico’s western state of Jalisco, best known for being the birthplace of tequila.
The Jose Cuervo Express is split up into four different sections, each offering a unique experience.
Express Wagon– The family-friendly three passenger wagons accommodate 62 passengers each. The seats are divided into groups of four, can be reclined and feature a glass-holder. Tickets will set you back R33,000 per person.
Premium Plus Wagon– Guests will be able to enjoy the lounge that is available in one of the Premium Plus wagons, which features a bar and waiters service. Nobody under 18 years of age is admitted. Tickets will set you back R39,000 per person
Diamond Wagon– This is the most exclusive wagon of Jose Cuervo Express. It features various rooms for passengers, a bar, a bartender and two waiters that make sure that nothing is missing. Tickets will set you back R44,000 per person. Nobody under 18 years of age is admitted.
Elite Wagon– The Elite Wagon is the newest wagon to be added to the Cuervo Express. It features an open bar for guests to taste a line of cocktails designed exclusively for this experience. Guests can also enjoy a three-glass educational tasting guided by a Tequila Expert, and take part in a visit to the agave fields with a jima demonstration. Tickets will set you back R49,000. Nobody under 18 years of age is admitted
The journey aboard the Cuervo Express starts in Guadalajara, before making its way to the town of Tequila, which is located around 64 kilometres away, during which you can learn about the facinating history and culture of the two cities you will be travelling through. The train also makes a stop at the La Rojeña Distillery, which is the the oldest distillery in Latin America, according to Mundo Cuervo.
Despite the Cuervo Express being operational since December 5, only a limited amount of passengers will be allowed onboard. Full service will resume once it is safe to do so.
