Bookings on Qantas for direct Johannesburg-Sydney flights are open, with departures starting from July 1. This comes after the airline announced plans to resume international travel on the same date.
The Australian carrier was sharply reminded by government that: ‘International borders will be opened when international arrivals do not pose a risk to Australians,’ Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack said, according to 9News. ‘Decisions about when international travel resumes will be made by the Australian Government.’
Customers are able to book a returning flight starting July 1, which starts at R8,886. The direct flight takes 11 hours and 45 minutes. The flights are offered on a daily basis and will be operated with a Boeing 787-900 aircraft.
