A whale-shaped underwater marine observatory will open in Australia in 2022. The structural wonder will be headed up by Baca Architects.
The Australian Underwater Discovery Centre will be semi-submerged in the ocean.
The centre will be the largest natural marine observatory in Australia and will be located two hours south of Perth, at the end of Busselton Jetty, 2km out at sea.
Bustleton Jetty Chairman Barry House says: ‘This is as authentic as it gets, because people are in the tank and the fish are looking in. By adding underwater dining, underwater sculptures, marine art and other features, this project will enhance Bustleton Jetty’s 155-year-old experience.’
Visitors will be able to explore the centre by trail and stay for a dining experience, according to Lonely Planet. People will be able to marvel over the underwater world and its inhabitants.
Developments will begin this year with the aim of opening the centre in December 2022.
