Parts of the Western Cape has been experiencing heavy rains that have resulted in flooding in Struisbaai and surrounding areas.
A video has been circulating on WhatsApp of men in Struisbaai onboard a boat during the flood. Rescue teams have been deployed to the area to help assist those who have been affected by these heavy rains.
The Cape Agulhas Municipality said people were being evacuated from their homes and will be housed at a caravan park, community hall, and other safe places.

The Western Cape is prone to floods during winter months. ‘South African Weather Services have further issued an update to the earlier one. An increase in significant rainfall can now be expected over the City of Cape Town, Cape Winelands district as well as Hessequa municipality from this evening. We want to encourage people to use caution, to stay indoors as much as possible,’local government MEC spokesperson, James Brent-Styan said according to EWN.
