A porcupine trapped in a wire snare was rescued by the Owl Rescue Centre and the Bryanston Avian, Exotic and Small Animal Clinic, after they found the animal near Tshwane earlier this week.
Leanne Hazlet and her son Kyle from South African Wildlife Rehabilitation Center were there to lend a helping hand in the rescue operation.
The small team of rescuers covered the porcupine in a blanket and handled him gently as they cut it free. In the video posted below, Dr Perushan Yenketsamy and Dr Melissa Marengo from the Bryanston Avian, Exotic and Small Animal Clinic stitch the porcupine up back to health.
