Due to the current unrest in KwaZulu Natal, Fly Cemair has added additional flights to cater for the lack of capacity between Johannesburg and Durban, the airline stated.

Competitor Comair has announced the extended suspension of Kulula and British Airways flights until August 31, 2021. Other airlines still operating are Mango, FlySafair, and Airlink, yet the ongoing restrictions and lack of leisure travel are expected to result in losses of more than $8 billion (R115 billion) in 2021, according to the African Airlines Association.
