A whale shark of over 3 metres long that had gotten entangled in ropes off the coast of Fuvahmulah in the Maldives has been freed by divers. In a video shared by Sassy on Facebook, the team says this was one of the most surreal moments of their lives.
The shark patiently waited while the divers cut away the thick rope. The enormous animal showed no signs of aggression and after it was freed, it swam away, only to return moments later and swim towards the divers again, almost as if acknowledging their help.
