In Zambia, a crocodile was trampled to death by an elephant protecting her calf. Crocodiles are known opportunistic hunters and will even take on a young elephant calf.
In a video shared with Latest Sightings, the calf’s mother was present and became very aggressive and started to push the crocodile with her trunk and head before trampling it.
Notably, the elephant doesn’t have tusks and resorted to using her mouth, and even went as far as to wrap her trunk around the crocodile’s tail; tossing it around during the attack, proving that a hungry crocodile is no match for a scorned elephant mother.
