Cape Town is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. One of the major highlights of Cape Town is Table Mountain and its iconic aerial cableway.
Table mountain was supposedly given its name in 1503 by Antonio de Saldanha when he completed his climb up Platteklip Gorge. He named it ’Taboa do Cabo’, which means ‘table of the Cape’, because of its distinct flat appearance.
While the mountain remains an attraction for local Capetonians and tourists alike, tourism has been dwindling. In an attempt to boost tourism, the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company has partnered up with the Groot Constantia wine farm. This partnership contributes to the #TheCablewayLovesLocal campaign by offering deals on wine tastings and discounts on tickets for the cableway.

While the hiking trails up Table Mountain are preferred by nature enthusiasts and fitness fanatics, the cableway allows people to easily ascend the mountain without breaking into a sweat.
The cablecars provide a gentle journey, lifting passengers 3500ft above the city of Cape Town and rotating them 360 degrees along the ride. This allows people to soak in every detail of the city below. After the five minute trip up the mountain, there are a variety of activities available. One can revel in the indigenous flora and admire the wildlife, or enjoy a hot beverage at the self-service cafe on the mountain’s summit.
