After promptly halting flights to South Africa when Omicron was detected, Turkish airlines will be returning to South Africa’s skies from 18 December.
According to Travel News, the airline is set to reinstate its Cape Town and Johannesburg routes, with the first flights scheduled to touch ground in both Cape Town and Johannesburg on December 18.
The airline will be flying to Cape Town and Johannesburg bi-weekly for the rest of 2022, as well as return flights to Istanbul. Passengers flying from South Africa will not be able to Turkey, but they may transit in Istanbul.
Passengers will be required to present their requirements for their final destination at check-in.
