SANParks has urged visitors to the Kruger National Park to be vigilant during the holiday season after an alleged theft.

‘SANParks has been notified of an incident where a tourist en route to Numbi Gate was allegedly robbed,’ the Park said. ‘The Masoyi SAPS are currently investigating the case as details are still sketchy at this stage. SANParks would like to wish the tourists a speedy recovery and urge visitors to always be vigilant while travelling to and from the KNP.’

No arrests have been made.

Facebook users commented on the news, some saying that specific gate is not safe to use while others say they have never experienced any incidents.

‘Never Use Numbi Gate!’ one user commented. ‘I use Numbi gate weekly and have never had issues,’ another replied. ‘Often stone throwing on Numbi road,’ someone else added.

‘A few years ago people were robbed, while waiting at Phabeni gate, before opening in the morning. Problem is that crime is a reality, and SAPS should be on alert,’ someone else said.
