An elephant bull charged and overturned the vehicle of a family visiting iSimangaliso Wetland Park on Sunday, 16 January. Daily Maverick reports the incident occurred on a road leading to the beach at Cape Vidal.
The husband, wife and their two young children are shaken, but unharmed. A bystander recorded the incident from a distance, see the video below.
It is not clear what provoked the elephant or what transpired before he charged the vehicle. Officials are conducting an investigation.
