Leopards are opportunistic and excellent hunters. Their diet consists of a wide array of animals, from small mammals to antelope, to more tricky prey such as porcupines. Occasionally they prey on other predators, in this case a cheetah cub.
Leopards rely on stealth rather than speed, usually stalking their prey and then pouncing at the last minute, according to the South African National Biodiversity Institute.
In this video from Latest Sightings/Safari Net below, a leopard spots a cheetah family in a riverbed in the Kruger National Park. Using its preferred hunting method, the leopard caught a cheetah cub!
The cheetah fights to save her cub but to no avail.
