Just a tongue-in-cheek reference to passengers who get frisky on flights? No, the Mile High Club is real after a Las Vegas airline called Love Cloud launched a new flight programme for couples.
They offer different packages: For $1,195 (R18,362) you can get married on board a private plane, $1,595 (R24,509) will get you a three-course meal added on and the Mile High Club package for $995 (R15,289) will get you 45 minutes of… alone time.
The airline’s daytime flights are a tour of the Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Meade, and the Las Vegas strip, and passengers on nighttime flights will see the twinkling lights of Las Vegas and a final low pass of the Las Vegas Strip.
Passengers will be flown in a twin-engine Cessna 414 aircraft. The romantic interiors include a wireless sound and light system, and a bed with red satin sheets. The pilot, who of course discreetly minds his own business in his own cabin, is equipped with a noise-cancelling headset for complete privacy.
The dinner package includes a personal flight attendant who will serve you, and adding another $300 to this extravagant date will get you transportation to and from the aircraft in a limousine, another bottle of MCC, red roses and chocolates.
The wedding package includes the couple, a minister, and up to one or two guests ‘depending on weight restrictions’.
