Thailand has approved the lifting of pre-travel testing requirements for vaccinated international travellers as the country seeks to downgrade Covid from a pandemic to endemic disease.
International travellers under any of the Test & Go, Sandbox and alternative Quarinitne schemes, will be allowed to enter Thailand without having to show proof of a negative PCR test from 1 April 2022.
South Africans previously also had to have a night booked in a Test & Go hotel, which is no longer required.
Visitors will still need to apply for a ‘special permit‘ to enter the country, which can take up to seven days to obtain, as well as a swab test upon arrival and a self-administrated antigen test on their fifth day in the country.
