A group of climbers led by Sandra Cheung successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro on 8 July, all for the love of animals.
Cheung and her group decided to summit Africa’s highest free-standing mountain to raise funds for the Johannesburg Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
In doing so, the group also spread awareness surrounding animal cruelty and ‘promote compassion towards animals and help give a voice to animals who cannot speak for themselves,’ her Facebook post reads.
Cheung originally set out a fundraising goal of R15 000 but ended up raising over R20 000, all of which went to the Johannesburg SPCA.
