Good news for motorists at last. The Automobile Association said it expects a significant drop in fuel prices in September.
Based on their mid-month data, the price of both 95ULP and 93ULP is expected to decrease by more than R2 per litre each. The wholesale price of diesel should also decrease, and is expected to drop by about R2.30 per litre.
These welcome changes are largely thanks to a drop in international oil prices, and the strengthening of the Rand.
This data, however does not guarantee the official changes in fuel price yet and the confirmed changes will be announced in the week before they are implemented. The changes will take effect on 7 September 2022.
