Mynt Cafe, located in the popular beach town of Camps Bay, is set to close its doors to make way for a new hotel. The cafe, known for its Mediterranean-inspired menu and stunning ocean views, has been a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike.
According to the owner, David Kriel, the decision to close was not an easy one. ‘It’s been a difficult decision to make, but we believe that the new hotel will bring even more visitors to the area and benefit the local community,’ he said.
Regular customers of the cafe expressed their disappointment at the news. ‘Mynt Cafe has been a staple in the community for years. It’s sad to see it go,’ said one regular customer.
Despite the closure, Kriel assures that the team behind Mynt Cafe will continue to provide delicious Mediterranean-inspired cuisine through catering and private events. He also hinted at the possibility of opening a new restaurant in the future.
‘We’re not saying goodbye forever, just see you later,’ Kriel said.
The new hotel, set to open in the coming months, will feature luxury accommodations and a rooftop pool with views of the Atlantic Ocean.
While the loss of Mynt Cafe is certainly a blow to the Camps Bay community, the promise of a new hotel brings the possibility of even more tourism and economic growth to the area.
