The Kruger National Park has been named South Africa’s Wonder of the World, one of the country’s most ‘wondered about’ landmarks/locations.
Medical travel insurance company AllClear conducted a study to discover the Wonders of the World people ‘wonder about’ the most. Through studying Wikipedia data, they determined which global attractions and landmarks have the most page views.
AllClear shared with SAPeople, ‘As Wikipedia is often where people turn to learn and gather information, it’s the perfect data source to help pinpoint the places in the world that people are most interested in.
The Top Three Wonders in Africa include the Nile River, Carthage, and Mount Kilimanjaro.
New Seven Wonders
According to Wikipedia data from the last five years, the Taj Mahal is at the top of the list, followed by the UAE’s Burj Khalifa.
Nepal’s Mount Everest took third place and is the ‘only non-man-made landmark’ on the list, reports IOL.
The Statue of Liberty in New York and the Eiffel Tower in Paris took fourth and fifth place, and the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu in Peru came sixth and seventh on the new Seven Wonders of the World.
