SAA introduces new route to DRC

South African Airways (SAA) will launch a new service connecting OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg to Lubumbashi International Airport (FBM) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, starting November 1.

The airline will operate five flights per week on this route.

Flight schedule

Departures from Johannesburg: Monday to Friday at 10:50 AM, arriving in Lubumbashi at 1:20 PM.
Return flights: Monday to Friday at 2:10 PM, arriving in Johannesburg at 5:15 PM.

As per Travel News, Carla da Silva, SAA’s General Manager of Sales Marketing Distribution and E-Commerce, stated:

“Our new route to Lubumbashi opens up exciting opportunities for both business and leisure travellers, strengthening our network in Africa,”

“Connecting to Lubumbashi supports economic growth and fosters stronger business ties between South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo. With our direct flights to Lubumbashi, passengers can now enjoy more accessible travel options to this vibrant city,” states da Silva.

As per The South African, SAA has also introduced a new mobile app available on Android, iOS, and Windows.

The app allows passengers to manage bookings, check in for flights, and access real-time flight updates.
