Although access was initially limited to travellers, cargo operations were resumed on the 9th of November.
In a report by Times Live, Gavin Kelly, CEO of the Road Freight Association, stated that the border closure had disrupted the movement of cargo from South Africa, thus causing losses. The estimated losses amount to around R5 billion.
Travellers are urged to remain cautious, as well as to ensure that they are informed and updated as they plan trips to Mozambique.
