The awards are aimed at celebrating outstanding achievements in the global cruise industry. As such, this prestigious achievement highlights the terminal’s status as the top destination for cruise tourism on the continent.
Furthermore, the remarkable milestone serves as proof of the terminal’s commitment to delivering a world-class experience for cruise passengers, further solidifying its reputation as a premier gateway to the City of Cape Town and the Waterfront.
Other African ports that were also nominated in the category included Durban’s KwaZulu Cruise Terminal, Kenya’s Mombasa Cruise Terminal, Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh Sea Port, as well as Tanzania’s Ports of Dar es Salaam and Port of Zanzibar.

‘We’re honoured to receive this accolade, especially following our recent recognition as Africa’s Leading Cruise Port at the World Travel Awards earlier on this year,’ said Andre Blaine, Executive Manager: Marine & Industrial Property.
Blaine also highlighted that these achievements reflect an ongoing commitment to excellence and to presenting the Mother City in the best possible light.
As the first point of contact for visitors arriving by sea, the terminal plays a crucial role in shaping their experience. Thus, it is important to make every arrival memorable.
