Only a few things in life are better than a lovely ice-cream on a hot summer’s day.
South Africa is home to a number of excellent spots where one can enjoy a refreshing gelato or yummy ice cream.
Here’s a look at three of the best:
Colaba Ice Cream & Dessert Studio, KwaZulu-Natal
Colaba Handcrafted Ice Cream was initially conceptualized in 2017 and is fueled by a passion for the gourmet world.
In January 2020, the establishment officially opened its doors and is the home of Super Premium Handcrafted Ice Cream. Colaba serves a number of decadent flavours including Baklava and Pavlova. The ice-cream spot only uses locally sourced ingredients and their products have no artificial flavours or colouring.

The Creamery is a favourite for many Capetonians, with various shops scattered across Cape Town. The spot is committed to serving the best ice cream using seasonal and predominantly local ingredients.
With everything from ice-cream to warm cookie options on the menu, it is the perfect place to get a sugar rush you’ll never forget. The ice cream is handmade, so you can expect a personalised touch with every scoop you purchase.
