On Monday morning, Kruger National Park Management received reports about the body of a suspected poacher that was left along the road in the Pretoriuskop section of the Park.
The body was spotted by a tourist who covered it and reported the matter to the Section Ranger.
As shared by SANParks, three individuals are suspected to have gained illegal entrance into the Park during the night. Their intention was to commit crime. However, they were attacked by a hippo and one of them sustained fatal injuries.

It is also suspected that the other two carried the body to where it was discovered the next morning.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is currently investigating the matter. Those who took pictures of the body are cautioned to not share it as this may jeopardise further investigations.
Management has also warned those entering the Park illegally to desist from this practice as it poses multiple dangers and consequences.
