Kenya’s aviation fuel handling costs set to increase by 8.6%

Starting in July, the cost of handling and storing imported aviation fuel in Kenya is set to rise by 8.6%, which could lead to higher airfares, according to TravelNews.

The increase in fees will increase the operating expenses of local and international airlines flying into and out of Kenya.

Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster, stated: ‘While it is too early to determine the full impact of this increase, Airlink remains committed to absorbing additional costs where feasible and will only adjust fares when necessary, beyond our scheduled annual fare review.’
