Seeking to boost the tourism sector, South Africa has set a target of welcoming approximately 15 million tourists by the year 2030.
As reported by IOL, this initiative is in line with relaxed visa processes and the recently launched Trusted Tour Operator System (TTOS).

The system is aimed at attracting tourists from key tourism markets such as China and India. It is designed to produce less bureaucratic hurdles in an often cumbersome visa application process.

In a panel discussion at the Meetings Africa conference, Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille, alongside other travel stakeholders, outlined the transformative prospects of the tourism industry.
Furthermore, Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber expressed that visa inefficiency has long been a barrier to growth. Through the TTOS, the issuing of visas can now take place within three days or even hours.
By implementing digital transformation, South African tourism aims to streamline entry for international visitors. In doing so, an increase in job creation is anticipated, together with enhanced investor confidence and a commitment to a more welcoming tourism environment.
