Cape Town – The African Energy Chamber, a leading chamber of successful networks, transactions, and partnerships at the helm of Africa’s growing energy industries, is set to host the first-ever African Energy Week in Cape Town, reports say.
The event will replace Africa Oil Week, a four-day conference that aims to bring together industry stakeholders, international speakers, and celebrities from the African oil and gas industry.
According to Africa News, this event will take place on November 9 -12 at the V&A Waterfront.
“… The event’s primary focus is to define and promote the African energy agenda through development, deal-making, and private sector participation…,” the report said.

Cape Town mayoral committee member for economic opportunities and asset management Alderman James Vos, said this opportunity will position the City of Cape Town as a leading hub for clean energy and green technology sectors.
Vos said the event will also serve as a reminder that the city is a preferred global destination for events and conventions, and will attract additional investors.
“The zone has already attracted investments of around R700 million, with at least five large-scale investors that are fully operational,” IOL quoted Vos as saying.

To ensure the safety of all attendees, the event will follow stringent Covid-19 guidelines such as establishing a gathering limit, social distancing and providing necessary testing, personal protective equipment, and facilities.
