Once the homestead of the Wicht family, the gabled villa has been transformed into a beautiful lodge that now offers 17 deluxe en-suite rooms and is now known as Blue Bay Lodge.
The newly designed executive suites offer panoramic views of the tranquil Saldanha Bay. In addition, the facility boasts 14 fully-serviced, freestanding, self-catering units and 16 semi self-catering suites that overlook the swimming pool and tennis court and beauty salon.
From most cottages you can enjoy panoramic views of the Saldanha lagoon. They are all equipped with their own braai area and fully equipped kitchens. These cosy cottages are also pet-friendly for those who want to bring their four legged friends with them on holiday.
Bedrooms are light and airy and they range anything from one to three bedrooms.
You can take a leisurely drive along the West Coast road to Saldanha to experience the unspoiled nature of this area. The atmosphere here is one of peaceful isolation and sandy footprints are reminders that you are at home in this beautiful landscape, free from the bustle of city life.
Blue Bay Lodge has rapidly gained a reputation as the most popular wedding, function and conference facility on the West Coast. Wedding parties of up to 110 people can be seated and stay the night as there is overnight accommodation for around 120 guests. The conference rooms can seat as many as 90 delegates and all three rooms are fully equipped with audio/visual equipment.
An à la carte breakfast is included in the daily B&B rate, but guests can linger to enjoy lunch or dinner overlooking twinkling harbour lights on the patio or in the Lodge’s tastefully decorated restaurant.
The restaurant’s hearty West Coast cuisine includes fresh seafood, home baked breads and local wines from a well stocked cellar. Guests can also linger longer in the newly renovated sea view cocktail bar.
For the more active, the lodge also offers a tennis court, a kids play park with trampoline, a Biokeneticist gym, an on-site beauty salon, a bird hide, two swimming pools in addition to the kilometers of beachfront which is safe to swim in for all ages and ideal for beach walks or other water sports.
There are a multitude of other activities off the resort such as horse riding, golf, sailing trips, deep-sea fishing as well as the casino at Mykonos to keep you entertained.
The Lodge has friendly, professional staff who will help ensure your trip is an experience to be treasured!
