Tintswalo’s Family Camp in the Welgevonden Game Reserve is one of those special places where you can unplug and immerse yourself in nature. Spreading across 40 000 hectares of pristine bushveld, Welgevonden ranks among South Africa’s largest private game reserves and boasts a great variety of game, including the Big Five and 300 bird species. The area is malaria-free and the camp welcomes children of all ages, offering five freestanding luxury accommodation units of one-, two- and three-bedrooms. The spacious guest suites come with all creature comforts, including mosquito nets, indoor and outdoor showers, fireplaces, ceiling fans and air-conditioning.
The camp is comfortably furnished, with the main communal lounge and dining area providing a warm and welcoming ambience with large, open living areas and cosy living rooms with fireplaces. The expansive viewing deck overlooks the waterhole and the valley below, as well as a swimming pool with poolside loungers. The camp is protected by electric fencing against predators and other dangerous game to allow children the freedom to enjoy the outside areas.
The camp chef prepares three meals a day featuring traditional South African dishes. These indulgent culinary feasts are shared on the expansive open lodge deck, while unforgettable boma dinners are enjoyed beneath the stars.
