The Cape’s West Coast will launch its inaugural West Coast Saldanha Bay Air Show on Saturday 1 October at Saldanha/Vredenburg Airport, and you’re invited.

Air Shows are ranked as one of the most popular family entertainment events worldwide. According to West Coast Saldanha Bay Air Show organiser Dr Clive Coetzee, who has organised 24 very successful air shows between 2012 and 2014 in KZN, air shows appeal to a cross-community of cultures, ages and are gender-inclusive.
‘The West Coast Saldanha Bay Air Show will, first and foremost, be family entertainment,’ says Coetzee. ‘It will be a fun day out for all and one thing is for sure – there is never a dull moment at an air show. The sheer diversity and combination of performers, aircrafts, speed and sound set against our magnificent West Coast, African skies mean that there is something for everyone.’

In addition to the jaw-dropping flying display acts there will also be static aircraft displays, other exhibitors, drone demonstrations, radio control aircrafts, drag and drone races as well as the very first ever drone vs drag race and much more. Local vendors will be selling food and beverages.
Some of the acts you can expect to enjoy:
- Mother City Skydivers
- Air display by Dave Mandel in his L39 Albatros Jet
- Air ballet duo by aviator Ivan van der Schaar in his aircraft and his son steering his radio control aircraft from the ground. This is a first ever act in Africa and possibly the world. The Aviation world is currently abuzz when they witnessed this act for the very first time at the Rand Air Show earlier this month. West Coast Saldanha Bay Air Show will be the 2nd event to host this incredible act.
