Sometimes, taking a walk in nature is the best remedy for all one’s troubles. A flower farm in Michigan, USA with a lavender labyrinth makes for a pretty relaxing stroll.
We might not be able to visit this haven right away, but it sure is a worthy stop to include on your next trip to the States.
It’s important to note that this structure in particular is not a maze. ‘There’s a big difference between a maze and a labyrinth,’ Barbara Bull, the owner of Cherry Point Farm & Market, told Better Homes & Garden.
‘A maze is a puzzle, it’s a form of entertainment, where a labyrinth is this wonderful, thoughtful, contemplative, meditative walk.’
The labyrinth is 3,2km in length and takes visitors about an hour to walk through.
Unfortunately, a large part of the vegetation on the farm was destroyed during the extreme cold wave that hit the Midwestern United States last year. They have since begun replanting. ‘It will take a couple of years before the labyrinth is back to its former splendor, but you are still welcome to walk it, to meditate, and to enjoy the healing space,’ the farm says on its website.
The farm also sports a herb garden and produces various fresh produce.
