Nestled in the picturesque Breede River Valley, Wolseley is a town steeped in history and natural beauty. Originally known as Ceres Road Station, it was renamed in 1910 in honor of Sir Garnet Wolseley. The area is renowned for its lush vineyards, orchards, cattle farms, and wheat fields, making it a key fruit and wine-producing region in the Western Cape.

Wolseley is easily accessible through beautiful mountain passes like Nuwekloof, Bainskloof, Du Toitskloof, and Michels Pass. It’s a fantastic spot for those who love the outdoors.

The Kluitjieskraal mountain bike trail features 41 kilometers of stunning mountain and forest views, with a shorter 14-kilometer option for a more relaxed ride.

Hikers can enjoy the New Munster trail, a pleasant 3-hour walk that takes them to the base of Mostertshoek Mountain. The area’s varied landscapes and rich birdlife also make it a prime location for birdwatching.
