One way to bring an endless sense of possibility and rejuvenation into your life is to reconnect with nature and reap its benefits. Are you looking to explore and appreciate the outdoors more? Here are a few things to add to your resolution list.

Keep a nature journal

From sketching plants to collecting fallen leaves and documenting your adventures, getting creative in nature is a fun way to enjoy the outdoors. When going for a walk, be sure to stop and open your nature journal to reflect and account for your feelings so you can manage your emotions effectively.

If you think you’ll have trouble thinking of things to write about on your adventures, be sure to look at a few opening lines to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Focus on your five senses and describe what you’re encountering in your surroundings.
  • Write a poem about a plant you see in your environment.
  • Find a flower ending its life cycle and investigate it. How does that make you feel?
  • If you could create a magical animal, how would they look and act?

Explore new walking paths

While you might love your tried and tested nature trails, it’s good to explore new avenues and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer. Do some research to check for any specific requirements you might have, such as distance and accessibility.

Participate in a nature-based workshop

What better way to connect with nature than by learning a new skill? From gardening classes to flower arranging workshops, there is always a way to turn your love for nature into something you can enjoy and marvel at every day.

Keep plants that bees can enjoy

If you plan to garden in the new year, it’s best to get plants that benefit the environment and all its creatures. Planting flora that provides nectar and pollen is a great way to create a bustling hangout for bugs and bees. Here are a few things you can plant to be a hotspot for insects and great a bug-friendly burrow:

  • Rosemary
  • Lavender
  • Cosmos
  • Sunflowers
