“˜Insomnia – I can’t get no sleep’ is surely one of the most iconic dance songs around. Now imagine thousands of fans jumping up and down as Maxi Jazz and Sister Bliss take the stage and perform this right in front of you. The excitement levels at the Grand West Grand Arena in Cape Town on the 4th of February cannot be described.
This was followed by “I want more”, “God is a DJ”, “Mass destruction” and all the other favourites we know and love. By the end of the concert we were drenched in sweat, our legs were aching, our voices were gone, but we wanted more! (more Faithless songs to dance to that is). The opening act, Goldfish couldn’t have been a better choice for the evening, getting the audience of all ages warmed up dancing to their beats. The concert ended on a high note with “We come one”, as Maxi Jazz got the entire audience involved in singing and jumping. Definitely one of the best live acts I have seen. Let’s hope they return soon.
