1. Bartinney
The first of the wine bars in Stellenbosch, Bartinney serves its sustainably produced, small-bath wines in Central Stellenbosh. In winter, a fireplace creates a nice and cosy environment and a custom-made chandelier crafted from Sauvignon Blanc creates the perfect ambience for drinking wine on those cold days. In summer, you can enjoy sitting outside on the stoep.

2. Le Grand Domaine Enoteca
An Enoteca is an Italian word for a regional wine shop that literally translates to “wine repository” and at Le Grand Domaine you can taste more than thirty wines side by side, all offered by tasting portion.
This Enoteca is the brand home of Grand Vin de Stellenbosch and Stellenview Wines which also offer seasonal bistro-style menus.

3. The Wine Glass
With over 130 wines available to taste and enjoy by the glass or bottle, so multiple visits will likely be required. Regional wines can also be paired with local cuisine, giving you a taste of an area. The Wine Glass offers indoor and outdoor seating, where the courtyard is home to a statue called “Lady Temptation”.

4. Le Chant Wine Bar
Le Chant Wine Estate is not open to the public, but you can savour their wines at their wine bar in the vibrant centre of town.
The estate is a collaboration between the French winemaking Oddo family and the South African Joubert winemaking family, where you can taste old and new world wines, combining the French and South African flair.

4 Brampton
A longstanding and vibrant wine bar on Church Street, Brampton is a bit easier on the pocket, so you’ll find students enjoying a glass of vino and some pizza. This is one of the wine bars you’ll hear of before you see it on a busy evening in town, but its atmosphere is unpretentious, and you can enjoy good wine and food.
