It’s going to be hot in the concept kitchen at Decorex Joburg this year as the GlamFoodie, Chez Fong; Ella Khumalo the Cook, and more will be serving it up in the Samsung Bespoke Cooking Theatre.
Take a seat at the proverbial table from 28-31 July 2022 for the tastiest cooking demos in Jozi. The live cooking displays are free to attend if you hold a ticket for the show.
Make space in your foodie schedule to watch the following chefs in action:
GlamFoodie WINE&DINE is the brainchild of Charmaine Ramalope, a food and wine writer, social media content creator, and foodfluencer. Her flair for all things gourmet has gained her a fair share of the limelight within the foodie circles – from hosting interactive cooking classes, to wine tastings and fine dining dinners… All of which have attracted some of Joburg’s elite socialites. Charmaine has collaborated with top brands such as Magnum, Nescafè Dolce Gusto and Hellmanns Mayonnaise.

Talented and dynamic chef Su-Yen Thornhill is the force behind Chez Fong. This bookings-only pop-up in a home boasts an Asian-inspired tasting menu featuring seasonal ingredients. The Asian fusion dishes reflect Su-Yen’s cultural heritage and receive rave reviews from patrons.
Known as “Ella Khumalo the Cook”, Ella Khumalo is a chef, the host of sell-out cooking classes, a caterer, social media influencer and ongoing brand ambassador for Seven Colours Grill Seasoning™. She is the face behind Angela’s Kitchen and Events Management, a high-quality catering business which is based in Kempton Park.
These chefs join others to stir up Jozi’s gourmet scene in the most stylish kitchen in Sandton. The Samsung Bespoke Cooking Theatre is kitted out with the finest Samsung Bespoke appliances – including the custom-coloured Samsung Bespoke Refrigerator, designed by you for you. The theatre is informed by the latest trends and designed by Careline Living Spaces.
Away from the stovetop, there is a host of fabulous foodie offerings at the show, from restaurants and pop-up cafes to exhibitors that will help you realise your dream kitchen. Be seen at Njano. Bright lemony yellow (a Plascon colour that oozes zest) will beckon you to this bold eatery created by Cassandra Twala of moea design. The striking scheme is inspired by African beadwork – here it has been vastly scaled up into an over-stated wonderland.
